JJ Solar. Well-known locally for the latest manufacturing technology and an uncompromising attitude towards product quality. Their commitment puts them head-to-head with the bigger players in the solar energy domain.
While working on their communication, we noticed that while their business approach was quite forward-looking, the logo left a lot to be desired. It followed an early 2000’s aesthetic, with unnecessary shadows and visual treatments. Frankly, it was out of sync with their own beliefs and the times.
A challenge we took upon ourselves.
THROWING NEW LIGHT ON THINGS
What JJ Solar needed was a new approach to branding and communication. An identity that was current, clean and clear, aligned to their future goals and a new vision and mission.
The solution? A total brand refresh.
POLISHING UP THE ROUGH EDGES
We started with the logo itself. Gone were the shadows. The sun became simpler, graphic in nature and ‘flat’, to use a design term. The typeface was adjusted to be uniform throughout, making it more legible. Overall, we chose a futuristic, clean look. Even the iconography was developed in-house to match the new minimal look. This gave the identity applicability and extendibility across mediums – print, outdoor, screen.
SHINING BRIGHTER, BETTER
The clients, suffice to say, were reasonably wowed by the fresh new look the brand now had. It was instantly recognizable, walked with the times and gave them a stronger presence on outdoor and social. Which, we believe, is what the goal of every brand refresh should be – elevating the brand to a newer version of itself.
